The way Core Temp loads its driver has not changed in over a decade.
You need to report to Riot Vanguard authors about a false positive, and get them to fix it.

I have the same problem.
I have already reported the error.
Unfortunately, the answer was that I should uninstall Valorant and Vanguard and then reinstall them.
Of course, this didn't help.

I don't think Riot will do anything about it. They block CoreTemp and similar tools, because they believe that cheat devs can use them to develop hacks for Valorant.
So we have to decide between CoreTemp and Valorant (and other Vanguard protected games).

Well. If there are any real vulnerabilities their tool has detected with the Core Temp driver, I'll gladly patch it up.
At this point in time, I'm not aware of any such issues.

I think they now allow you to disable that tool without needing to fully uninstall it -- after a Windows/PC restart, tool becomes active again.

Please can you check with anti-cheat tool disabled if Core Temp is able to work, or not?

Please tell us how it goes.

Well, they just deleted the ticket I submitted yesterday.
I don't think I'm going to be chasing them, it's their problem, not Core Temp's

I don't think they care about real vulnerabilities. Because Hardware Monitoring Tools have access to the hardware, they block it as a precaution.

Yes this works. But it's anoying, when we have to disable Vanguard after each PC start and have to start CoreTemp manually... and also have to restart the PC, when we want to play.
And the biggest problem for me is that it is not possible to monitor the CPU temperature while playing, when it is important.

The problem is not with Vanguard, there is still a security vulnerability in the latest driver that Core Temp uses. You can use IOCTL 0x9C402618 and 0x9C40261C to read/write to any physical address. In order to fix this, the driver should properly check that the physical addresses and their size is within the BIOS and/or devices BARs.
If you look at the latest version of MSI Afterburner, it had the same issue, this was properly fixed and there is some information here about it https://swapcontext.blogspot.com/2020/0 ... tcore.html

Thank you, that's good info.
I'll make the appropriate changes in order to avoid the memory mapping issues.

Thanks for the update! So, does Core Temp work fine now with the new version of the anti-cheat tool?
OR does it still fail? :)
Please let us know.
