Load Library Error!

I am using Core Temp Gadget 1.3 on Windows 7 (64bit) and Core Temp 0.99.7.3 - 64bit.

I get the message "Load Library Error!" which appears where the information should be displayed.

I have tried uninstalling both the gadget and Core Temp itself, restarting etc.

Anyone got a fix for this?

I have heard about this issue before, but never could point out why exactly it didn't work.
One thing that may be happening is there may be some other gadget that's in conflict with the libraries Core Temp Gadget tries to register.
Could you please list the other gadgets that you have running? Maybe we'll find something here.

One more thing. Try to install the Visual C++ runtimes, see this thread for more info.

Hi

I have only one other Gadget running and that is GPUMonitor v2.1 for RivaTuner v2.24.

I have downloaded the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) and (x86) and installed both.

Still the same problem. :<

Any other suggestions?

To be honest, I'm lost.
I couldn't replicate the problem on any of my machines so I can't really seem to find a solution
Maybe try to reboot the computer?

I have tried restarting etc. Still same issue. :<

I recall the issues started around the time of a Windows Update, to be specific http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033.

This might just be a coincidence... What do you think?

That's an interesting theory, that's quite possible. Is there a chance you that you could uninstall that update and see if that works for you?

I have uninstalled the above Windows Update, Core Temp itself and the Gadget aswell, rebooted, re-installed everything and still the same issue. :<

Can you tell me what other gadgets you have installed on the system? There may be some other gadget that is installed and is in the way of proper installation of the Core Temp Gadget DLLs.

Hi,

I'm pretty new to win 8, and first job, customizing it. Installed coretemp 64bit, and the widget, but when I run it, it gives me a "Load Library error". Coretemp itself is however running fine.
Is there already any hint towards the cause? The only other gadgets that I am running are All CPU Meter (which has an option to use CoreTemp, but doesn't display any temps), and Network Meter.

Would love to get this to work. The temps given in the taskbar are too tough to read.

You have to install .Net 3.5 for the gadget's DLL to work.

Thanks, but the Net 3.5 is part of win 8. So that shouldn't be an issue. Any other options?

.Net 3.5 is not installed\enabled by default and needs to be specifically activated.

Sorry, I messed up. It's 4.5 that's included with win 8. Will install 3.5 and see what it does. Will report later.

Win8 is driving me nuts. I had coretemp running. I rebooted, and is gone. Cannot find it anywhere anymore.
I re-extracted the zip. It asked me if I wanted to overwrite the file, which I couldn't see. I said yes. It extracted them to the same location, but they are invisible. Where did I mess up?
