[Core temp 1.18] "Driver has failed to load" error

Post by kd2 »

Hello, is years i use core termp without any issues, today i upgrade from 1.17.1 to 1.18.0 and with my surprise i got this error that i never had before. I'm under windows 7 sp1 x64.

Event viewer report this event:
> The ALSysIO service failed to start due to the following error: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file...

I rolled back to to 1.17.1 for now waiting for a fix, 1.17.1 working perfectly so this is a bug with the last version.

Thank you.

I see, so there is no way to remove sha-2 checking? It will stay from now on?
Prefer to not install that package, it is chained with telemetry, and i refuse to install telemetry on my clean win 7 for privacy reasons, but not a big deal, 1.17.1 working great so far, so i'm fine anyway, thank for your reply.

Yes, older SHA signatures have been discontinued in 2020.

As admin said, 1.17.1 is very good for my 2019 rig anyway, temps are correctly showed, i find frustrating to install sha-2 with telemetry only for an upgrade unless you have last hardware with windows 10, then is worth it.
