How to Differintiate Performance and Efficiency Cores

Post by weychiao »

I have a CPU 12900K and there are 16 cores displayed in the program, and I wanted to know which 8 cores are performance cores and which 8 are efficiency cores. Thank you!

At this point, Core Temp does not differentiate between P and E cores.

Hello The Coolest.

In fact CoreTemp is not even detecting the cores and threads correctly.

I have an Intel i7 12700 with 12 cores and 20 threads and CoreTemp is showing 12 cores and 24 threads. It assumes that all cores have hyperthreading. I can't say if it can be detected or hardcoded, but right now what it is showing is not correct.

Besides that, I can see that if I stress the processor, CoreTemp will read min temps on several cores as 0ºC. They seem to be random read but if I leave the stress test long enough all cores will have 0 as the min temp limit at some point. I can't say if it is a wrong read or a complete miss in reading. Maybay it can be solved by taking several measures in a time and discarding the lowest/highest. Algough high temps seems not to be affected.

Best regards.
