Temperatures - i5 9300HF (Coffe Lake)

Post by cwic »

Hi,

I have Lenovo L y540 with i5 9300HF (Coffe Lake) procesor.
Data from Core Temp is showing warnings because for short time processor temperatures are jumpig to 95 -96 degrees, these jumps are very short and mostly on some heavy games start, then temps in heavy use are 75-80 degs, in normal use 50 -55.

Should I be worried abut this high-momentary temps or not?

I don't think you should worry. New CPUs are designed to run hot when needed, and they can handle the heat by reducing boost or even throttling, depending on the situation.
High spikes of a few seconds is nothing to worry about, the CPU boosts to high turbo frequencies during game launch to perform the task as quickly as possible, while still staying within its thermal limits.
