Cpu temps and load order in taskbar problem

Post by Trapperjohn »

Hi,

When i boot up I have cpu1 temp 1st in taskbar then load then cpu2,3,4 etc...
If I drag load to the 1st position then reboot it goes back to cpu1 then load then cpu2..
How do I keep load as the 1st one in the display?

Thank you for your help,
Bryan

It's something that you can't really control.
Windows decides on icon order automatically, and there's no way around it.

I know it is lots of work, but in theory could you maybe spawn 4-5-6 EXE mini sub-processes, then from those create 1 Tray icon for each one? :)
Then Windows should allow free dragging of these icons, yes?

You can always drag the icons around, but Windows will decide which icon goes where.
I don't see a reason to spawn extra processes, that will not do anything really. What we have right now works ok most of the time, at least in my experience.
After I set the icons the way I like them, usually restarting the program will put the in the exact same positions.

That is my problem I rearrange the icons putting load 1st then cpu 0 then 1 etc.
When I reboot my order is not remembered.
Is there an option or procedure I am missing to do this?
Thank you for your help,
Bryan

Okay, agreed. It works quite satisfactorily for me too. :)
(the most cores here are 4, I do not have any of those new, fancy 6, 8+ core AMD/Intel CPUs.)

@Trapperjohn, after setting the icons position, try to close Core Temp from the red X or from the menu and start it again, see if there's any change.

Sorry, not sure why it's misbehaving, but there's not much I can do from this side about it.
