Good morning,
I just put together a new Ryzen 3700x on a Gigabyte Aorus x570 main board.
The temperatures that Ryzen Master shows for idle on the 3700x is ~35c.
While running Core Temp, I'm reading temperatures between 45c and 53c.
I was concerned at first that I had a bad processor, however the bios shows 35c, so I'm certain this is not
a correct reading being taken from the processor.
Also, the model is not correct, and the platform is not named (greyed out).
Please fix this issue.
Let me know what information you require and I will submit to resolve this issue.

Ryzen 3700x incorrect temp no load showing
I just recently built a Ryzen 3700x system and have been using Core temp since my AMD 8320 build.
I've noticed that the temps are reading 10 to 15 degrees hotter showing 40-50c on idle, vs Ryzen Master, which averages around 32-35c.
I also noticed that the power consumption is not being read.
While I know these have a habit of running on the warm side, I can't see why your sensors are picking up 10-15 degrees more heat than the onboard and Bios are detecting.
Please advise on the issue, and the power consumption showing 0.0 issue as well.

Have you tried different monitoring tools? Like AIDA64/HWMonitor/HW Info? How do they compare?
The 3rd gen Ryzen chip is pretty special, in that it's reaction time to any sort of loads is almost instantaneous, 1ms.
It's possible that you're seeing higher temperatures due to something AMD calls "observer effect". The application polls the processor for information, the process detects it as "work" and comes out of its lower power state to execute the instructions. This can result in higher readings of temps, voltages and clock speeds. Ryzen Master has been specifically optimized by AMD to avoid this observer effect, and that could be the reason for the discrepancy you see between the two programs.

Hi, Coolest - I tried running the AMD Ryzen Master application, and the MSI Dragon Center application. Those applications both shows a CPU temperature of ~36 DegC while Core Temp shows ~45 Deg C, and the temperature displayed by Core Temp is more "jumpy".The Coolest wrote:Have you tried different monitoring tools? Also, I have noticed that Core Temp displays the same temperature for all the cores of my Ryzen 3900X. Is that correct? I know that my old Core i7 3770 would show a different temperature for each core.

The AMD Ryzen Master averages the temperature over a period of time. This smooths out temperature spikes.
Core Temp displays it as it is, no averaging and no smoothing.
That's why the temperature is more "jumpy", and seems higher than in RM.
AMD have a single thermal sensor (readable by software that is) in each chiplet. Core Temp is currently only capable of reading the package temperature on Zen 2 chips, thus you will only see a single temperature per CPU (or socket).
