Possible bug on subzero temps? 0.95.4

Post by Rockhammer »

I'm running an Abit IP35-E with an Allendale core E4300 (3925mhz, 1.66 vCore) and the latest bios revision. Core Temp 0.95.4 reports of 11 and 10 degrees C no matter whether I'm at idle or full load. The kicker is that I'm running a custom phase-change cooling system (think Vapochill on steroids). A thermocouple on my heatsink (evaporator) reads -52C at idle and -42C under load. I'm guessing the true core temps are in the -10C range based on my experience with my old Asus P5B and this same chip. Here is a screenie.

Thanks!

There is an issue with the Intel DTS not working well with low temperatures. You're not the first to see and report this problem. Usually the temp reaches a certain low, and then stays there no matter how much lower the temp has actually gotten.

And Core Temp showed you sub zero temps on those boards?

Unfortunately, I didn't test with Core Temp on my old board. But the Bios, Speedfan, etc all read correctly with the old rig. The only thing that changed was the mobo.
