Coretemp suddenly stopped working "driver failed to load"

Post by davodavodavo »

Running v1.0 rc3 on win7 pro 64bit.
Your wonderful tool was working flawlessly for over a month.
Then I am hit with one of MSFT's wonderful auto-update cycles, and now coretemp fails immediately with the message "Driver has failed to load. This program will not continue." Doesn't matter if I run as a normal user or as a sysadmin.
Googled around for nearly an hour and found no useful/current solutions for this one.
Help???

Thanks in advance.
David

I figured out my issue: I had encrypted the windows temp directory in win7 (this, for information security purposes on a laptop)...but that confused coretemp and made it blow up. Un-encrypting that directory made coretemp come back to life.

Doubt that is the issue that you expereienced due to a windows update (I'm up to date on win764 bit pro and running fine now.

Thanks, but you're right - that's not the same issue for me. So the mystery continues. I suppose I will simply uninstall to cure the problem.
