Temp Reading Bug - Core Temp 1.0 RC4

Post by RBDO »

Hello!

Since a few days Core Temp 1.0 RC4 came with the notification... "Temp on core No. x is to high"!
Everytime it shows THIS core has a temp. : 254°C
The core is changing... 0 to 3, there's no core that comes more than any other.
There was no change on the hardware... all hardware functions well.

Anyone any idea?

System: WIN 7 64bit - AMD Phenom II 965 C2

thanks

It appears to be a problem with either Core Temp's access to the NB register where the temperature value is located or data corruption within the NB register.
I'm not sure what could be the cause of this, but it is a rare problem.
It's possible you may have another hardware monitoring software that is conflicting with Core Temp, or maybe an unstable overclock (in case you are overclocking).
