Core Temp disables AMD ZeroCore Power

Post by DrNo123 »

Hello folks!

When using the latest CoreTemp my AMD Radeon 7950 cannot enter ZeroCore Power mode (= fans off) correctly. The fans on the card slow down when the monitors switch off but just before they fully stop they speed up again - this continues repeatedly in an endless loop. So no ZCP feature when CT is running.

This seems to resemble on the temp values being updated and the GPU cannot handle this refresh. As soon as I switch CoreTemp off, the fans can stop completely in monitor standby. This can be reproduced.

Is there any way to make a change in CoreTemp to no longer prevent ZCP from working? Thanks in advance! :)

Tried all Catalyst drivers coming from 12.6 up to the 12.11 Betas w/o a change.

Cheers DrNo123

What version of Windows do you use - Vista/7/8? 32-bit or 64-bit Windows?
