CoreTemp reporting incorrect CPU Frequency

Using Core Temp 0.95 it is reporting my Intel C2D as 3.6ghz (450x8). This is not what my CPU is running at. Currently it is set to 400x8 (3.2ghz).

This is on an eVGA 680i motherboard if that makes any difference. Below is a screenshot if what I see:

i had a similar issues, i think the cpu detection end of the coretemp problem is being worked on.

I have the exact same problem, and my system is clocked out exactly as WayneBike except I have an e4300 C2D. The only difference is in the temps, mine is in the 40's. My question is this, if it is reading the clock speed wrong, what makes the temp reading right and not wrong also?

Yes, I'm aware of the problem.
Its a limitation of an old frequency detection algorithm.
A fixed is planned in a future release.

Seems like cpu-z is the only prog that's getting it right (2.4 GHz) on my machine (XP System properties, Core Temp, Gigabyte Easy Tune and SpeedFan all report 3.2 GHz)
