Hi, please upload a 'Register dump' (it's in Tools menu).
I'm also pretty sure that the frequency in Core Temp is correct, but I will check.

I have an AMD FX 8120 and CoreTemp also says it's a AMD Processor BE. The Section "Plattform" is also empty. Core Temp shows a TDP of 27 Watts, but i think it is 125 Watt. The cpu temp in idle is 15 degree - so i can use it as refrigerator... ??? I hope it will be fixed soon ?

The temperature sensor in APUs is very unreliable in low load conditions. I've even seen temps go down to 0.
You should still be able to keep an eye on temps when it is under full load.

The frequency problem is indeed a bug, the frequency displayed is always double of the actual frequency the CPU runs at.
There's an update coming very soon that will fix this.

Hello. I just got a new AMD A10 6800K APU. It is supposed to reach 4.4 GHz max, but CoreTemp is only displaying 2.2 GHz on 100% load. The temperatures are sort of unbelievable as well. I've seen it go as low as 3 degree Celcius.

Are there any fixes or plans to fix in the future? Thanks!

Core Temp has not been updated to support these new APUs yet. A new version should be available this month.
Hopefully the new release will also include new code to retrieve accurate core temperature readings.

Excellent! Thank you for the prompt reply. I love using your program and the gadget. I used Everest in the past to give me a similar gadget on my desktop, but this one is much simpler, and just as effective! I look forward to the new release, I hope it does the trick!

Hi there,

I've recently purchased a new setup, too bad CoreTemp (currently?) doesn't support my ("Unlocked") AMD FX8350 Black Edition processor... (running version 1.0 RC5).
Well it does support it, but it's not showing the right temperatures.

Image
I can't attach the screenshot in a attachment since it's too big, I hope it's okay if I do it this way... )

It says my processor is about 11 degrees celsius in idle Windows, and it reaches a max temp of 32 degrees celsius under load.
But if I look in my bios and in the AI Suite II software, it shows me already a temp of 33 degrees celsius idle in windows, and that's not even under load (haven't measured that yet).
Always has worked for me on previous processors, and I really like the gadget which you can use it aside with and I would LOVE to keep using it this way!
Is it possible to get CoreTemp fully support my processor?
It would be awesome if this could be fixed, if there are any need of more details, please let me know!

Kind regards, Milo.

Core Temp is reporting the core temp of the CPU's cores and Asus is reporting the CPU temp from the sensor in the MOBO. They are different temp readings. The gadget is right and the average temp in core temp is the average which probably rounds up.

All is good, I have the same FX-8350 just keep your core temps below 60 °C while under a load. Right now Asus says my CPU is 40 °C and my core temps are 22 °C also, the core temp gets more accurate the hotter it gets.

Hope this help!

Yeah it sure did, but I would really like to read know whether it's possible to fix this yes or no.
Since i've always been using CoreTemp+the gadget it became so standard and handy to read off temps from that.
And since I also have 2 screens I can play games on one screen and keep an eye on my temps on the other one.
Hope to get a reply from devs soon :)

Fix what? Everything is correct. Core Temp reads the core temps of the cpu and Asus reads from a sensor embedded in the motherboard. They are two separate reading by design. See here and here

Sadly there is no fix for this. AMD CPUs had not been reporting 'absolute' temperature values since the Athlon64 era. So the only workaround for the FX series is the same as it has always been, you've got to add an offset.
It seems to have changed with the new Trinity and newer APUs. Core Temp still needs work in that department, but I'll get it eventually.

It seems to have changed with the new Trinity and newer APUs. Core Temp still needs work in that department, but I'll get it eventually.
Now I'm confused. I've been going off the package for years. Core Temp reports the same as Hardware Monitor on my FX-8350 and all my other AMD CPU's so what work does it need in this department? I guess is what I'm trying to ask is, it's right, right? Thanks
FX-8350 on a Sabertooth 990FX with 16GB of CORSAIR Vengeance and 2 MSI R7850's in CrossFire.

I meant that the APUs can actually report an absolute temperature, which should be much more accurate than their current solution.
