This is the only program that causes any problem like this with my computer.
M2N32-SLI Deluxe
AMD 4200+ X2 Windsor
EVGA 7900 GT
2 GB Corsair XMS 6400
OCZ 600W PSU
Same here. It randomly reboots the computer or it is triggered by the opening of another application.
nForce150
AMD 2800+
MSI 6600GT
1GB Samsung PC3200

I seen to be having the same issue, i originally thought it was due to my over clocking but when i returned my system to stock the same thing happened. When back checked all my settings and stressed the comp for 24 hours all good but i was not running core temp. I haven't tried it with out logging but will let you know. One think i have noticed is i can tell just before it will shut down, core temp will give me readings of 206c for a single core at random a number of times then shut down.

2gig corsair 3500

I also have betting getting readings of 206 degrees on my opteron 165 and have experienced sporadic shutdowns like described above. Power on -> power off. I eagerly await the next version in hopes that it solves this problem as it is a great program.

similar 206 degrees problem & shutdowns with me too

I just wanted to post, since if I set this program to startup, or I open it it turns off the PC.
I don't know about everyone else, but I know what causes mine to do it, seems the diskeeper engine for me is what does it, without diskeeper installed Core temp works fine, once installed, it does the shutdown thing.
Just to add to the data

All the systems I've built exhibit this behavior with CoreTemp, both in v.94 and v.95.
I've used four different motherboard chipsets, and the shutdowns occur at both stock settings and overclocked settings.
The affected chipsets: nVidia nForce4 SLI X 16; nForce4 SLI; GeForce 6100; and Via K8T890.
Hope this information helps. I really love the program, but I personally cannot use it because of the shutdown problems.
Keep up the great work, and good luck.

Was the same CPU used in all those motherboards? Or some common piece of software?

Different CPUs for each build.
As far as common pieces of software amongst them, perhaps I can compile a list (to see what the possibilities are):
CoreTemp
OpenOffice Suite
Orthos Stress Prime
Prime95
WinXP Home SP2 in all builds (and, therefore, proprietary MS software)
ZoneAlarm AntiVirus
Firefox
DVD Shrink 3.2 (in all but one)
To the best of my recollection, these are the programs that each had in common. If necessary, perhaps I can come up with a more exhaustive and comprehensive list.
Only one build is "software-heavy," though (my main machine, based on the A8N32-SLI); the shutdowns occur during testing prior to clearing the machine for day-to-day use.
Anyway, I'd be glad to contribute what I can in order to help iron out any issues with it.
Thanks for the help!
