Coretemp RC5 Freezes Windows 7 Ultimate X64
CoreTemp RC5 blue screen (FX-8350 Win8)
So I've been using CoreTemp RC5 for a while with my FX-8350, 990FX mobo rig for a while now. I had a problem for a long time where making CoreTemp start on Startup would cause the system to freeze then reset as soon as CoreTemp loaded. I made a quick fix to this by running CoreTemp via a batch file with a 60 second delay on startup.
My new problem is that since the latest set of Windows 8 updates that have applied to my computer, CoreTemp causes the system to Bluescreen no matter what. Any solutions? If you need any more information please let me know and I'll do my best!

RC5 crashing fx8120
Hi, Ive had coretemp on my computers for years and its always worked perfectly for me. However over the last few months I have had a few problems with my custom built desktop in that after a certain period of time the entire thing would crash and lock up shortly after it loaded the desktop. I have only just isolated the problem and it is the version of coretemp i have been using, since uninstalling coretemp everything is working perfectly which is a bit sad really because its a cracking program.
has any fix been released or is there a version of coretemp i can download that works fine with the fx processor?
ive reinstalled windows 7 around 10 times over the last 2 months because this problem kept happening and i thought it was a dodgy update until just. i just installed windows 7 AGAIN after the error started happening again and one of the first things that i installed was core temp. shortly after it started crashing again so a quick boot into safe mode and an uninstall it works fine again..

Same problem here on my laptop with APU A8-4500M.
Does not freeze every time but often. In some cases it freezes for several seconds only (no mouse movement) and then it runs again.

Re: Coretemp RC5 Freezes Windows 7 Ultimate X64
I don't know yet if my occasional freezing is related to this, but I am getting a frequent BSOD related to ALsysIO64.sys as well. For now I have uninstalled RC5 to see if my other problem is related as well. This is a new build, and I have used CoreTemp for years with much success.
AMD FX 6350 on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Win7 Home Premium.
Hopefully I can track down the source of the freezing as well now that the BSOD should stay away.

After uninstallatation of CT RC5 no other freezes happen again. Before that I had to boot my laptop for 3-5 times until it got started completely and didn't freeze.Taowulf wrote:I don't know yet if my occasional freezing is related to this, ...

While RC5 was the cause of the blue screen, my freezing issue was related to another (now resolved) issue.

Hello forum,
I have started having problems with coretemp after overclocking my CPU yesterday, I had it running on startup and whenever I tried to startup it would bluescreen my PC. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and RC5 of coretemp
Here is the rest of my build -
AMD FX-4170 OC to 4.7GHz with Arctic Cooling Freezer A30 cooler, MSI GTX 760 TwinFrozr Gaming OC, Sandisc Extreme II 240 GB SSD, 2TB HDD, GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3, Vibox Phoenix case, Samsung Syncmaster S22B300

I have linked the bluescreen with the RemoveWAT windows 7 activation program
AMD A4-4000
AMD A4-4000 and M.B. ASUS F2A55-M (BIOS 6403) and Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit
After running CoreTemp I can see "chess board" and then DUMP with error on alsysio.sys
Under Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit) CoreTemp works correctly
