Amd Trinity A10 5800k
Core Temp 1.0 RC4 doesn't show real time temp, infact it shows "0c(?). Any fix for it? Thanks!

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
It's a problem with the processor's temperature sensor. Try to load something such as Prime95, to get the processor under stress and you will see the temperature will reappear.
There isn't anything that can be done in software to fix, unfortunately. I am looking into a possible way of reading more accurate temps from these chips, but so far it doesn't look too promising.

Hi The Coolest,
I really like Core Temp, it is a great piece of software. I also have a Trinity processor, Athlon II X4 750K, and I have same problem as Eousha. I also have ASRock motherboard, and there is ASRock utility for OCing and temperature monitoring.

Maybe you could contact those guys over at ASRock or other manufacturer, maybe they could help.

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
Hi Guys,
I have recently bought an AMD A10 5800K Trinity CPU. I tried Coretemp and it didn't work for me, didn't show any temps at all. I have an MSI FM2 A75MA-E35 motherboard with no overclocking options turned on in BIOS, except 'AMD Cooln'n Quiet' set to Auto. For some reason they put the Cool'n Quiet thing in the OC options!?
Anyway, tried CPUID Hardware Monitor and this works fine giving the same temps as the BIOS does. Example, If I boot the pc into BIOS, it usually shows about 42 deg C. Then boot pc into Windows and CPUID Hardware Monitor shows around the same temp. Incidentally, the MSI Control Centre software shows about 27 Deg C when CPUID shows 42 Deg C. I would rather believe CPUID I think as it at least agrees with the BIOS temp readings.
Basil.
MSI FM2 A75MA-E35 Motherboard, AMD A10 5800K CPU, 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport Memory, Trust 570 watt PSU, Coolermast heatpipe cooler, don't know the type! Runs COD and Crysis fine with onboard graphics, good enough for me anyway!

Hi, love the Core Temp gadget.
BUT does not show accurate temp for the AMD A10-5800K as other had stated.
Here a comparison of the Gigabyte supplied ET6 (Easy Tune) application and the Core Temp. ET6 shows 28C vs 2C.

I'm working on some new code for the APUs, it *might* fix this issue, but I'm waiting to receive an APU for testing to make sure that everything works properly and doesn't crash the system.
Hopefully the next version will finally be able to display the actual CPU temp for the APUs.

Hi.
Very similar experience to others, but the Core Temp is giving readings from 0 to 51 degrees centigrade for the CPU - AMD TRINITY. Asrock Extreme is showing a range of 38 degrees to 51 degrees - I am willing to accept this as realistic. (Coretemp did at one stage show a wayout reading of 160 degrees).
Core Temp is showing absolutely identical reading to EVGAs e-leet tuning utility, (using latest versions of both). Will try out AMD'S System health monitor for now to see if it agrees with Asrock Extreme.

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
I don't know why this occurs on the APUs, I assume this has something to do with its low power modes when idle. So it appears to be unrealistically low at idle.
There's an alternative way of reading the core temperature, HWMonitor already uses this method. I'm working on implementing it as well, but I'm waiting for a test system so I can make sure everything works properly and the build is stable and reliable.

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
My A10-5750M shows 0°on all 4 cores... If there is HW proplem then why RC5 was working?? It was bugged cousing bluescreen sometimes but it shows temperatures...The Coolest wrote:It's a problem with the processor's temperature sensor. Try to load something such as Prime95, to get the processor under stress and you will see the temperature will reappear.
There isn't anything that can be done in software to fix, unfortunately. I am looking into a possible way of reading more accurate temps from these chips, but so far it doesn't look too promising.

It is designed (Trinity/Richland temp sensor) so that gives more accurate max reading. Basicaly it works on 45C and up. The more gets hotter the more accurate is the reading. You can set an offset in CoreTemp to adjust to the EeasyTune. Mine is +17Cdrk222 wrote:My A10-5750M shows 0°on all 4 cores... If there is HW proplem then why RC5 was working?? Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
There is a Bug in v1.0RC6 because mine temps are 0C constantly even on full load when EasyTune shows 64C!
RC5 works normally for me with an offset of +17C i get the same temps as in EasyTune6.

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
Hello, I hope I'm doing this right to get a response, I love CoreTemp. I have a Skin for Rainmeter on my desktop for it but I built my new computer with a Richland 10-6800k APU and it shows 0Celcius. I did not OC yet... I saw this though on the forums:
And with the APU:
EDIT: @TheCoolest; I think it has something to do with the APU's Turbo mode.
I own an ASUS A88XM-A FM2+ motherboard. I did not see any core unlock option in the BIOS. I am stress testing ATM with Prime95 and hoping to get some feedback from CoreTemp's readings. Some motherboards include a Core unlock feature, which is based on ACC as well. In most cases disabling these features in the BIOS will bring temperature readings back.

I'm having the same issue with Core Temp 1.00RC6 after upgrading from 1.00RC4 not reading the temperature of the AMD CPU of my laptop (AMD A8-4500M APU -Trinity). It displays the temperature as 0 degrees Celsius. Core Temp 1.0RC4 did display the temperature. In fact I've tested a different application Speedfan 4.49 and it gets a temperature reading.

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
An update, I was finally able to secure an APU to run some tests on. So these are just very early results, but so far things seem promising.
- The BSOD bug with Trinity/Richland APUs has been fixed.
- The temperature should now be correctly reported. Results are comparable to HWMonitor readings.
- Inaccurate frequency under Windows 8 and 8.1 has been addressed.

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
hmm well I have an APU A8 5600k and RC5 reported temperature (but really low temperatures, like 10-15 celcius), RC6 is still stuck at 0 celcius.
Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
I am fixing a cousins computer, Asrock FM2 & APU A10-6800K and can confirm that RC5 gives a temp reading but it is
very low (same as NoBugsOnMe) and with RC6 I get no temp readings even after stressing the CPU/GPU @ 100%.
The windows 7 install is UEFI, if that makes a difference?

Same exact thing. Windows 7 Legacy. mobo is ASUS A88XM-A. RC5 very low temps, RC6 always 0 degree and RC7 gives Very high temps 70-90MadMungo wrote:I am fixing a cousins computer, Asrock FM2 & APU A10-6800K and can confirm that RC5 gives a temp reading but it is

Re: Amd Trinity A10 5800k
I installed the plug in Core Temp Grapher Beta and it shows the temp for all cores. Each graph shows independent temps so there must be four sensors on the chip. In the FAQ it says that there are only one sensor on these APU's and Coretemp RC6 shows only one. All temps is around the freezing point of water.
I can only see a single temperature reading.
AMD processors based on the Phenom and Phenom II (Athlon II, Sempron II, Turion II, etc.) and all of AMD's new CPUs such as the FX and APU series only have a single thermal sensor.
Thus Core Temp will only display a single CPU temperature reading. There is no way of getting a per-core reading on these processors.
