Core Temp Languages

Post by The Coolest »

Hello everyone.
I thought I'd make a place for users to post the translations they made for Core Temp and make them available to others immediately.
It will also allow other translators to see whether a translation for a specific language has been made already so they don't have to spend time on something which has already been done.

I have received a translation to the following languages, so there is no need to make one yourself:
Greek, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Italian, Polish.

Create a "languages" folder in Core Temp's folder, and put the .lng file in it.
Then restart Core Temp.
In Options --> Settings you will find the language list, select the one you want and click OK.

Thanks a lot, it will be added to the next release :)
*edit: I've ran some tests and it looks like many labels are cut off.
Could you shorten/abbreviate some of them to make it look properly?

No unfortunately greek words are longer than the english ones. For example core = πυρήνας about double letters.
I tried to do that during the fixes (wrong translations, english words left, but I couldn't shorten more words.) I couldn't find something better, sorry. :(

When they added to main site?
Then, the current version of Core Temp is RC3, it is not stable version.
When the stable version released? :)

That is awesome, thanks a lot.
I've uploaded it to the website, and it will be included in the next version.
Could you please change "Chinese" that is in English into the Chinese language equivalent, I'm trying to keep each language name in that actual language, thanks.

I want to make a translation, but not sure what tools to use?
Is it as simple as using Notepad, or is special software required?

Go here http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ and look in More downloads. There is translation tool there, although you can use notepad as well.

Thanks!

Some comments on the tool:
1) Tools/Settings-Customize do nothing, maybe they can be removed.
2) It should prompt to save changes on Exit, now it does not, thus edits can be lost.
P. S. I see you used MS .NET/WinForms to write the tool - nice! :)

Comments on Simplified Chinese:
Please change the wording of "Chinese" in the Options (from English, as it is now), to this in the next build:
简体中文
(it means "Simplified Chinese" in Simplified Chinese.)

Comments on Russian translation:
There are glaring errors in it, I will update this post with suggestions for better wording later...

Extra comments:
I believe "Japanese" should be in Japanese too. Like this:
日本語
(according to Google Translate and Wikipedia)

Also, the Translation tool Readme file seems to mention 'Translation Credits' entry - where is that? Can't find it.
EDIT: It seems the Entry is missing, because I am using the Russian translation as a base for my own translation, and that entry isn't there, because the Russian translator chose not to add it...
How to add it manually?

Thank you for the feedback.

Add the following to the IDD_ABOUTBOX part of the language file:

Code: Select all

        <Control RightAlignText="false" RightToLeft="false">
          <Id>1008</Id>
          <IdName>IDC_TranslationCredits</IdName>
          <Text></Text>
        </Control>
Naki wrote:1) Tools/Settings-Customize do nothing, maybe they can be removed.
Done.
Naki wrote:2) It should prompt to save changes on Exit, now it does not, thus edits can be lost.
If this is simple enough to implement, I'll add this function.
