Seems weird, but a few days ago I started to notice my explorer window was refreshing every second or so. You can see the folders flicker and the hourglass appear for a microsecond or so. It was starting to bug me so I started hunting down the cause. End of long story is as soon as I kill the coretemp process the constant refreshes stopped. My system is a vanilla winxp32 install - asus p5b deluxe wifi, e6400, ocz 2gb ddr2 800.

I wonder how I managed to miss this.
That is quite odd.
I'm running Core Temp, and have been for quite some time and have not noticed that kind of problem before.
Do you still have this issue, and do you have logging turned on or off?

I'd like to add the following:
I am also experiencing this problem with XP SP2 when logging is enabled.
In all applications using the common dialog box "Save as" or "Look in" such as IE, Firefox, Winamp etc. when I open the drop-down list "Look in:" the list opens and closes itself immediately. I can do nothing to force the list to remain opened.
Perhaps this behaviour can be influenced in of the next versions so that the refreshing doesn’t appear although logging is enabled. That would be great.
