Core2Quad Q9400 Core Temperature Differences

Postby jaykub7 » Thu Dec 02, 2010 12:25 am

Is it normal for the Q9400 Core 2 Quad to have 2 cores with temperatures 16 degrees cooler than the other two cores even at idle?

I have attached a dump, and screenshot of what I am talking about.

I would appreciate any information on this. I find it really odd.

Jay

Very strange indeed.
Looks like a very badly calibrated sensors. Do the two last cores ever go below 38c? Could also be a sticky sensor issue.

Actually no, I have been watching while the computer has been under full load, and they never move, up or down, however the other two move just fine. Core 0 has had a max of 40 degrees, so I don't think there is a chance of damaging the chips, I just wish I could figure this out.

Is there any way to fix the sensors? I know probably a stupid question.

There is no solution for this problem.
