What does enabling Windows 7 taskbar features give me? :?

It enables the progress bar inside of Core Temp taskbar button which represents either clock speed, CPU load or temperature.
It also displays a small icon to help you easily understand what reading the current progress bar is showing.

Do you have Windows 7? If so, look at the "Windows 7 Taskbar" tab in the program's settings.

Yes, I have Windows 7 and I have that setting selected, but I can't see anything different.
