Excellent! Looking forward to the new version - this app is exactly what I need as I'm operating my cpu and case fans at very low speeds via a fan controller and need a safety net in case some rogue process starts punishing my CPU
Glad to see it's an AMD coding issue and not a mobo issue - otherwise that one might have been much harder to figure out!
Not at this time.
I simply don't see enough of a reason for it. If you want thermal protection, simply run Core Temp, set it to display an icon in the system tray, unless you want to see the temps and you're set. You can also set it to start with Windows in Minimized mode.
Ok - running it as a task during Windows start-up is what I was doing before (rather than at 'any user logon'). I just was hoping that I could still see the temp in my sys tray AND have it start before any user logs on.
That being said my main interest is CPU Overheat protection, so seeing the actual #s in the sys tray are not important. It's unlikely that anything will go wrong pre-logon anyway, especially since I'm using AMD's C&Q mode.
I just gave version 0.99.7 a go, and the Overheat Protection can work properly with my AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor, just as MisterPinst's AMD Phenom II x64 BE processor.
It can thus be seen that users' feedback is not to be sneezed at, so aren't The Coolest's attention and efforts.
