Always 37 C even under load?

Hi,

I have an E8400, both cores report 37 deg C all the time.
Once i saw it go up to 38 for a short while but that was it!

Even when ik run Orthos for 10 mins, it won't go up.
I am using watercooling but i can't think of it to work THAT good!!

I've got an analogue temp-sensor connected to the cpu (actually the watercooling block), this one senses a increase of several degrees after a while, but the are some heatsources near by so that could influence that reading though.

Are my internal cpu sensors failing?

What CPU temperature do other programs show?
If it's below the 37C value, the sensors in your CPU may be bottoming out.
If it goes over 37C then maybe the sensors are faulty.

Realtemp also gives the same results!

what do you mean with 'bottoming out' ?

It's called a "sticky sensors" syndrome, it means that the sensors simply won't register temperatures below a certain point. It will show the correct temperature when it rises above that point but will "bottom out" at that point.
In your CPU's case this is 37C.

Ah IC, so if I will run orthos for a longer period of time it will go up... maybe i will test this

Tested it!

After an hour it went up to 39 and a while after that 41 Deg C.
Just when i stopped Orthos it immediatly dropped to 37 again.
