1st time using Core Temp after last upgrade of computer and Core Temp flashes a briefly in the top right-hand corner of my monitor, but nothing shows in the Taskbar. I have used Core Temp for decades and this is the first time I have had a problem.

Are you using the latest version? Can you still see the Core Temp taskbar button? Did you check that the icons are not hidden?
Is the Core Temp.exe process running if you check in Task Manager?
When did this issue start? Did this problem follow an update install or some other OS or hardware change?

I cannot remember the last time I used Core Temp but the Icons were hidden. Thank you for solving my problem. The last time I used core Temp the task tray had all the temps listed in deferent colors.

I am always using Core Temp with no icon/button in Taskbar option, for over 10 years now. 
Using two 27" displays, with Core Temp window always open on the 2nd display.
(thus no need for any Taskbar icon, which adds extra/unnecessary clutter - only Notification Area icons)
