The dotnet dependency

Dear all

CoreTemp needs dotnet. But which version? I believe that Core Temp used to need dotnet 3.5, which is a relatively old version and which, on my Windows 10 system, pulls in dotnet versions 2 and 3. I'd rather be rid of all that. So, can I remove all that - and have CoreTemp still work? I have CoreTemp version 1.17.1. (I tried to find the answer to my question by searching this forum, but I did not find the answer.)

Core Temp doesn't really require .NET at all. It only needs it for the Remote Server plugin, which you can delete if you're not using it.

Thanks. Do I need that plugin if I am to use CoreTemp with Rainmeter? I think the answer is: no. For, I am continuing to use CoreTemp with Rainmeter, even though I went ahead and removed dotnet 3.5.

I don't think you need it for Rainmeter, no.

It was designed for an Android app that allowed you to monitor Core Temp's reading from your phone or tablet, but the app was long discontinued, and recently Google removed it from the Play store.
