Ryzen 9 6900HX

Post by Vince »

I got this new Notebook with this CPU.

The Power consumption often stucks at -1.0W and the Load is too low Displayed when I run Prime95 or software like Handbrake. Frequency is too low too.

Lithography, TDP, Platform and Tj Max isn't displayed.

A Dump has been attached.

I agree with Vince. I have mostly the same problems as he does. I just bought an ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (2022) laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H CPU. It has Windows 11 Home. Here is what I am seeing with the Core Temp app. Note the Load is stuck at 0% most of the time. It even stays at 0% or 1% if I run the torture test with Prime 95.

I have the ASUS ROG STRIX G17 2022, with Windows 11 Home too.

Hope that Arthur will fix this soon :D Can't wait for the Update 8)

But nice too see, that I'm not the only one with the same problem.

Thanks. Sadly that didn't return that data I was hoping it would.
I see that the identification works correctly now.
Any change in the CPU load? Or is it still not working?

Here is another screenshot using the new version of CoreTemp when running the Prime95 Torture Test.
This time I have the Task Manager - Performance window open to verify all 16 threads are at 100%.

AMD Site says max temp: 95°C, but Core Temp says 115°C?

Is that correct? :?:

Thanks.
It's not correct, you can ignore that value. Looks like it only works correctly for desktop/server parts.
There's no public information about these registers, therefore this information will most likely be removed from the final release.
