Sometimes from a cold startup Core Temp 1.14 hangs. If I kill the process and try to restart Core Temp it still hangs. The only way I can get it to work is to restart Windows.
When I went back to Core Temp 1.13 I did not have this problem any more.
I am not sure but this behavior may have started after I updated Windows to version 1903.
Note I again reinstalled Core Temp 1.14 so I could verify the problem. Note in the image below Core Temp 1.14 has hung and is not responding.

I have Core Temp installed on my desktop and laptop, both with Windows 10. It works fine on my desktop, but on my laptop, it doesn't start when the laptop is powered on, even if I try to start it manually. However, if I reboot the laptop, Core Temp starts normally. I tried removing the task from Task Scheduler and re-enabling the option for Core Temp to start when Windows starts; same result.
What happens exactly when you try to start it?
Can you can look at the Event Viewer to see if the application has crashed, or was there some other reason it failed to start?
If it did crash, you should have crushdumps (Core Temp.exe.****.dmp files) on your system, please make sure you're using the latest version (1.14) and attach the crash dump so I can analyze them and try fix the issue.
There's nothing in Event Viewer from Core Temp and no crash dump files. I have the latest version 1.14. If I try to run it manually, the UAC window pops up, but when I click Yes, nothing happens.

That is exactly the same problem I am having. On my laptop I had to go back to Core Temp 1.13.

Can you guys please provide dump files? Reboot the machine, open Task Manager, find "Core Temp.exe", right click on it and select "Create dump file".
It will generate a dump file and display the path it's in (in c:\users\YOUR_USER\appdata\local\temp). It can be a rather large file, use WinRAR/7Zip/whatever to compress it.
You can put it on G-Drive/One Drive/Dropbox etc. and send me a link to it, you can do it over PM.
