Another E8400 High Temp??

Post by CoreTemp-User004 »

I just got my e8400 up and running with an artic cooling freezer pro 7, and these are the temps I am getting.

core#1 53
core#2 49
0% load on both
(cant get a pic here)

they seem a little high to me.
do I need to adjust the Tjmax for this chip or is 105 the norm?
I just barely overclocked and would like to go more but with the temps already this high and not underload makes me nervous?
any help would be appreciated
thanks

I also have an E8400 and the artic cooling freezer pro 7.

CORE TEMP 0.99 TEMPS

Idle temps are
Core#0 is 45c
Core#1 is 49c

Prime95 temps (100% load)
Core#0 is 55c
Core#1 is 57c

How safe is this? And what can we do to lower these high temps?

My E8500 with no OC idles at 29C and goes up to 35C with World of Warcraft running on my EVGA 8600GTS. (It cools down if I alt-tab out of the game, so it seems to be the video load that raises the temp.)

Vista Ultimate, 4 GB memory (3 sticks, 1+1+2 DDR2).
