Keystroke Logging??

Post by gameday22 »

Hello,

I have been using your program for quite a while now and have always found it to be very user friendly. A couple of days ago my PC Tools ThreatFire Program warned me of a Keystroke Logger being present within you program. Is this correct?, and if so what purpose does it serve. I do not wish to stop using your program and I have suggested it to many of my friends. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this matter.

If that's true it's not from ct dude. Are you using internet explorer as your primary web browser by chance?

Its strange that Some anti viruses react to coretemp, but no traces of a keylogger are in it.

Keystroke Logging

Post by gameday22 »

I fully agree. I am not saying that this program is logging keystrokes, I was simply letting it be known that ThreatFire (from PC Tools) is reporting it as containing a Keystroke Logger.

I have already e-mailed them to report to them that their program is giving a false reading about CoreTemp, I just hope that they realize this and are willing to do the right thing and remove it from the database.

I have been a very satisfied user of CoreTemp and have suggested it to many of my friends because it is a very user friendly product....keep up the great work and thanks again :)

Just wanted to add - not sure why it would be logging keystrokes, but I do trust threatfire - and it hasn't given a false positive of this type on any other program. I do get the keylogger warning with CoreTemp though - so it is certainly not just the OP's system.

Considering I've had my passwords stolen in the past by russian hackers (literally) and subjected to attempted extortion to get my accounts back - I will not be using Core Temp so long as it is being reported as a key logger.

If it is a false positive, sounds like a problem the developers need to deal with because I certainly don't want to deal with it myself.

Keystroke Logging

Post by gameday22 »

NoBugsOnMe,

I fully agree, ThreatFire has been very reliable and has not given me any sort of false positive before..it has been an accurate program.

It would be nice for the Developer of Core Temp and ThreatFire to get together and figure out why it's giving a keystroke logger reading and to fix that issue. I have also stopped my use of Core Temp for now. I am not saying that your program is logging keystrokes, but until I am 110% sure that it is not then to protect my privacy I have had to stop the use of it.

I really hope this is something that can be fixed, you make a very nice program that is user friendly.

I am not sure what is the cause of this. though softpedia has varfied the software. Anti virus suck as kaspersky use to report Coretemp but it doesn't anymore.
I will Email ThreatFire Right now to get to the bottom of this. Though i can assure you no key logging features on Coretemp.

Keystroke Logging

Post by gameday22 »

I e-mailed ThreatFire also but have not got a response back from them yet. It has been exactly a week since the e-mail was sent. That is why I was hoping that the maker of Core Temp would contact them directly to get this resolved.

It is just bothersome to see something reporting that it is logging keystrokes. As I said, I am not saying it is, but it is surely reporting Core Temp as being a keystroke logging program and a high threat status.

email was sent last week. I didn't get a reply. But can one of you scan the software see if it still reports it as spyware.
