Conflicting Numbers for AMD Phenom II x4 955BE TjMax

Post by McSlash »

Until today, every thing I had found on TjMax for the AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE, had said 62C was it. Frighteningly low, but All forum posts and blogs, anything I could find kept repeating those numbers.

I recently reinstalled my OS, Windows 7 Home Premium, and just got around to reinstalling Core Temp. Previous versions did not include a TJMax number, but now, there it is, 79C. While helpful, I would certainly like to know Core Temp's source , and their confidence in, that number. Considering right here in this forum, same processor, different, lower, TjMax number.

Nevermind, that's a 965 . . .

Still I am looking for reassurance.

Okay, I found some things . . .
Over at the AMD website they are definately saying 62C is Maximum Temp;

But when you get down to their Desktop Processor Power and Thermal Data Sheet, it is obvious that they are talking bout TCase;

Just thought I'd share.
