Memory RAM Temperature

Postby NeverFollows » Mon Jul 23, 2012 10:22 am

Is it possible to measure or determine the RAM temperature in a Laptop?

I have a Dell i7 with 8GB Ram. My laptop often crashes because the RAM are too hot.
I cannot put my figures on the RAM after a crash (about 45 degree C, using an external thermometer)
I installed an external fan just under the RAM which fix the problem.

I believe that there is a non-standard way of monitoring RAM temperature. But it isn't implemented in every machine and it probably depends on the memory module to support this.
