Display the average temperature on the system tray icon

Post by DaveH »

Being able to display the temperature of the hottest processor core on the system tray icon is very useful, but it would be even better if it were also possible to display the average temperature of all the cores in the processor, in the same way as the Piriform Speccy system monitor does.
Thanks, Dave.

I literally just signed up to +1 this. Especially in modern CPUs, highest core temp is pretty meaningless, as each core is plenty powerful to be turbo'ed alone for a process that requests it quickly. I would really like to get AVERAGE temperature of all my cores. Actually, I would love to have both things on my tray (along CPU load/utilization): average temp of all cores AND highest core temp.

Thank you! :)

Feature Suggestion - Average Temperature On Tray Icon

Post by DaveH »

Would it be possible to add an option to display the average temperature of all the CPU cores on the system tray icon?
At the moment you can only display the temperature of the hottest core on a single icon.
Piriform Speccy displays the average core temperature per processor, which is good, although their implementation is often inaccurate, unlike Core Temp!
Thanks, Dave.
