Variable Interval Setting

Would it be possible to have in addition to the "standard" interval setting, aa second setting "After Getting to within 5%" setting?
That way I could have a smaller log file that would have more detail when I really need it.

Could you also add an audible tone when the limit is reached? I have done it by calling a .wav file but it would be a nice feature. A one time sound or "continuous" option would be good too - for when I am out of the room.
