AMD Geode LX processor Support Request

Post by zaldoor »

Would it be possible to add support for the AMD Geode LX processor in your next update? CPUID supports it, but it doesn't do what i need and I prefer to use your Product "Core Temp" since it does everything i need :)

I'm no programmer, but let me know if you need anything to help you with this if you decide to follow thru my request.

I really appreciate it!

Thanks,
Zaldoor

Hi,

Have you tried to run the latest release on the processor?
If it works, a register dump (tools menu) will help me out, and also a txt dump from cpuz.
Although I have to say that I have my doubts about the geode having support for built in thermal sensors. This technology was first introduced by AMD with the Athlon64, and the geode is multiple generations behind it.

Yes, I have installed the latest release of Core Temp 1.0 RC6

I've included both dump files as requested.

Hopefully this helps :)

Thanks,

I have not had a chance to work on adding support for it.
Although from what I can see in the datasheet of this processor there is no integrated temperature sensor in the die.
This means that in the best case scenario Core Temp will be able to detect the processor and display correct information about it, but it won't be able to display a temperature reading.
