Haswell/1150 Support?

Postby captainf » Sun Jun 02, 2013 5:17 pm

Hello there,

does the current build of CoreTemp, RC5, already support Haswell/1150 processors and show the right temps, or is the algorithm off and just showing wrong temperatures?

If you need any dump files please let me know!

Best regards,

As far as I know it should work just fine.
A register dump would be really useful.

Hey,

thanks for the fast reply.

At the moment it looks like this, at least some information regarding CPU/VID etc. seem to be missing or wrong (static):

Image

As requested, I attached the dump file. The CPU in use was a i5 4670k.

Looking forward to the next update.

Thanks in advance for your work!

Thanks for the help.
It seems that some information such as power control unit registers have changed. I'll try to see what's what tomorrow, as I still can't see any information or technical documentation on Intel's website.
But other than that, temperature should be accurate. The rest of the information was pretty easy.

Core Temp is alive and well :) For personal reasons I had to take some time off, though.
A new version will be out in September.

I think so. I still haven't got the chance to get an APU, but if I can't do it this week I'll release what I have and release an update with APU fixes later.

I'm am not sure about the VID, it's quite possible Intel changed the algorithm for VID again.
It will not be changed in the upcoming release, but I will look into it for the next version.

Been looking for someone with a Richland or Trinity APU to test this before publicly releasing it, and never thought it would be so hard to find someone.
There was an issue I need to confirm is gone before releasing it to the public.
As soon as I test it, it will be released.

The current version shows 0,825V as VID all the time, which is plain wrong.

If you can't fix it, it might be a great consideration to print out n/a or something like that, because I know that a lot of people are confused about the VID (from several OC threads in various international forums).

Anyway, looking forward to the upcoming update(s). Keep up the great work, I love your tool :)
