Possible temperature misreading

Hello.

I believe Core Temp may be reading my temperature incorrectly, as when I boot my laptop, it reads my temp at 115-118F.

TOSHIBA Satellite L645D-S4036
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
AMD Phenom II Triple-Core Processor, 1.8GHz on each core
4GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series

Can someone address this with me?

Does the temperature increase when you put load on the system?
47c sounds like a reasonable temperature for a laptop.

the temp usually increases a few degrees, I only see or feel a change when I am doing something, like playing a game.

As of this post, the temp is 51C, and it reads as the "Critical" color.

Just ran Runes of Magic, Temp spiked at 61C for the duration

Well if the temp is orange that means it's still in the safe zone.
The latest Core Temp release should be able to tell you the maximum rated temperature for your CPU, as long as it's at least 10C or more away from that you're fine.

I have 0.99.7, says my max temp is 100C.

Then your temperature is perfectly fine.
