Need some advice Please

I built my dad a computer with a AMD Phenom II 940 BE. Using the stock heatsink and fan. It is in a Lian Li Case with 1 140mm intake in front, 2 120mm intake fans on top (Switched to intake after calling AMD about processor temp issue), 1 140mm exhaust in the rear. He does not do anything with the system to fully tax the processor. He plays games from places like Real Arcade and Game House. When he is doing general browsing and email the temp in the high 30s to mid 40s. However when playing these games it jumps to high 50s and sometimes hits 60-61. This seems a bit high to me. Does anyone have any advise for me to help fix this problem.

Thank you.

It is a little bit on the hot side, but still within the limits of acceptable.
Make sure that the HSF is properly mounted and the thermal paste is applied correctly.
Other than that, stock heatsinks aren't known for their superb cooling properties, so that could be just a cooler limitation.

Thanks for the info. Would you recommend an aftermarket HSF or switch over to a liquid cooled. I mean its not like he uses it as a server or anything but I don't like the system running so hot consistently.

Thanks again for the help and the program.

I think that any decent HSF should do a better job of cooling the CPU and perhaps at lower noise levels as well.
Although the temp does seem to be in the safe range, if you feel uncomfortable with, upgrade the cooler.
