Why are the fonts so jagged in the taskbar on Windows 7?

The numbers in the taskbar are so rough and jagged they're hardly readable.
There's also visual artifacts with some of the yellow pixels turning black. It appears there is no font smoothing at all.
My system does have cleartype enabled and working everywhere else. I have the latest graphics drivers and no other issues.
Is this a bug or just something wrong with my system ?

Cleartype is not applied to the fonts in the notification area icons.
You can change the font to something that will look better in the settings dialog.

Screenshots?
Likely monitor issue, and/or scaling issues!
On my Windows 10 PC, Full HD resolution monitor (low-res nowadays, with the 4K/etc monitors/TVs that exist), I see no such issues, all is very clear. See shot:

What is your exact screen resolution?
Is your display a TV or a PC/laptop monitor?
What font scaling setting do you use - 100%, 120, 150/etc?
Try changing those a bit to see it that helps.

You could try changing the font color also, some colors look bad/unreadable. Yellow & light blue, such as in my shot, look great. :)
