What about the 2nd cooling point in Notebook?

Postby talljohn » Sat Jul 30, 2016 6:11 am

(Thanks, what a great tool this Core Temp!)
Hi Experts,
I have nearly 0-knowledge of PC-hardware. I changed my fan in lenovo Z580 intel core 3632QM but was not prepared to fit it with new conductive paste. That's why I use Core Temp; looks fine, everything stable < 60°C.
BUT: There was a 2nd "cooling point" besides the main chip/processor. What's this chip? Is it's temperature also monitored with Core Temp?

Thanks and best regards,

The second chip is most likely the nVidia GPU. Or it could also be the chipset.
