1.0RC9 AMD A10 Temperature Issue

Post by BDW »

I have an AMD A10-6800K APU on an ASUS A88X-Pro MB. Since updating Core Temp from 1.0RC8 to 1.0RC9 the reported CPU temperature has been in the range of 0 to 10 C (with occasional excursions to "0?" which I'm guessing is a representation of values less than zero). Before the update the reported temperanure was 40 to 50 C. If I check the "display distance to TjMax" checkbox on the advanced tab it shows 70 to 80. The displayed values do change with time in a manner that suggests the sensor is being read. It just looks like the translation from the sensor reading to a displayed temperature or delta TjMax isn't functioning correctly. Reverting to 1.0RC8 restores the original temperature readings. I've updated with two different 1.0RC9 setup files downloaded several days apart with identical results.

Misleading Temperature of my CPU

Post by Change »

My CPU is AMD A8-6600k
I just updated core temp to the newest version, now the temperature goes from 0C to 12C. Can this be true ? Before the update it usually showed 40C to 70C and this CPU has stock cooling.. Any ideas ???

You can't trust the readings RC8 was showing, check out this post for the explanation why RC9 changed things back to how the used to be in the past:

I think RC9 shows load of cpu not temperature.. Because it is not possible for a CPU to be 0C with stock cooling not even with liquid cooling.

It shows the temperature as it was read from the DTS.
As I mentioned, it's not really 0C. Read the link I posted.
