Load on start-Display CPU top corner

Recently, a repair tech installed Core Temp in one of my computers. It runs on start up and displays a little box with CPU at the top right hand corner of the screen.
I downloaded setup in another computer. At installation, it required restart. This caused the computer to go haywire.
Questions:
1. How to avoid screwing up the computer after installation and restart.
2. How to make CT run on start of computer and display CPU at top of screen.
