Solved -- "Can't Access Shared Memory" -- On W7 Install

Post by JHM »

Folks,

So, if you are looking to monitor your CPU temps and want the Windows 7 gadget (and have no worries on "Gadgets" -- MS is no longer promoting the idea . . . ), then you are probably wanting to add the Gadget that works with CPU temp. But then it won't work because you "can't access shared memory".

Very simple solution. Bring up the little applet that is created when you install the underlying Core Temp s/w (i.e. from the Start button). Recall the the Gadget "sits on top of this". In Settings, there is a check box saying something like "permit access to shared memory". Voila!

So, it's not really a fix, but it is more of a "feature activation". Hope this helps someone.

Nice work.
