Help! Phenom II Reading 0C(?)

Postby Dolph_USMC » Mon May 14, 2012 3:23 am

I have an AMD Phenom II x4 555 BE, unlocked to a Phenom II x4 B65 Processor and Core Temp is showing it to be 0C(?). Is this because the cores have been unlocked in the BIOS? If so, how can I get around this, and unlock the additional cores and get Core Temp to work as well?
-Thanks

Yes, when you unlock the CPU, the built in thermal sensor stops working.

I had the same issue, but read the FAQ! But I still have a question!

Could you offer the option to disable the temperature display for cases like this? I'm not likely to turn off the option to have 2 extra cores for free. My testing shows they all work flawlessly. I like the activity display on my screen, but the constant 0°C displayed is silly.

Since Core Temp is a temperature monitoring software first of all and CPU info tool second, I don't think that an option to turn off the temperature monitoring portion of the program makes sense, even though in some isolated cases that precise part is not functional.
