Clock is not consistent

Post by bytebandit01 »

Hi, i'm a newbie to this excellent program.. my processor is Intel i7 2600K.. with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit..

I was previously using version 0.99.8.0, and would see the Clock consistent at 3.4Ghz

Now with version 1.0 RC2, at startup, It shows at Clock at 3.8Ghz, sometimes it changes to 3.6Ghz, and then most the remaining time it just shows 1.6Ghz

Is that a design feature where the clock shows the real time reading? or have i done something wrong with the settings?

The older version could only read the default frequency of the CPU, it never changed because a bug prevented it from registering any changes in frequency.
1.0 is able to detect the changes, like the CPU going into low power (idle) mode, 1600MHz or into a higher state, Turbo which can reach up to 3800MHz.
So this is perfectly normal.
