Temperature showed by Core Temp never change

Post by daprela »

I have a Compaq Presario laptop with an Intel Dual Core T3400 processor and a Windows 7 Ultimate OS.
I've installed the latest version of Core Temp, and the temperatures it shows for the two cores never change while the computer is running, even after many hours working. It simply stays at the first temperature it shows when I start the pc.
The application is not blocked, as I see the frequency and load percentage of the processor changing continuously.
I wonder if there's some issue, or something I must do to make it work properly.

Thank you

Could you please post a screenshot? It'll be easier for me to tell you what could be wrong that way.

Here it is.
I've posted two screen shots. The first has been taken after six hours the pc was working.

Then I restarted the pc and took the second screen shot.
Core Temp 2.jpg
If I simply quit the program and restart it, it will always show the old temperature. Only if I restart the pc it will update the temperature, but even in this case the temperature never changes.

I have exactly the same issue. I'm running Vista Home Premium on a basic hp with a pentium dual core and my core temp readings never change although the rest seems to work fine. Are there some settings that need to be tweaked or......?

Not sure what the cause of that could be.
Looks like a problematic sensor, or something in the BIOS causing this problem.
