I have a similar problem on an AMD955BE overclocked to 3.6Ghz.

Coretemp worked fine, and then one day, just stopped and I haven't managed to make it work since.

What dependencies does Coretemp have? (eg. dll's, .net, etc.)

It just doesn't even start. It comes up with a failure on event viewer, but I have no idea on how to interpret what it says. Tried going back to 0.99.7 but still didn't work.

I'm not sure if something got corrupted/changed during some updates.

It's working just fine on my main rig, which is also an AMD955BE overclocked to 3.6Ghz

Both run Win7-64HP.

regards, Giz.

Core Temp doesn't have any dependencies. It's a C++ application compiled in a way that has all the required libraries integrated into the executable.
Could you please paste what the error was in the event viewer?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

As I said, I'm not sure why it stopped working, as it was working on that system... :(

Event Viewer is a pain to deal with as well, hope that this provides the necessary information. As you can see, I went back to version 0.99.7 as well, and that is the currently installed version on that computer. This one I'm using now has just been updated from 0.99.7 to 0.99.8 64 bit versions and both were/are happily working. Maybe the C++ runtimes on that computer are corrupted? Just guessing though.

First of all I would like to apologize for not replying sooner.

Have you been able to resolve the issue, or did you give up?
Will you be willing to give it another go, and maybe work with me a little bit to see if this problem can be found and fixed for the next release?
Please PM me your IM address/contact and I'll contact you.

I just installed the same CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE) running at stock settings, and CoreTemp stopped working here too. I previously had an AMD Phenom X4 9850 BE, and had no issues. Not going to OC until I have a way to monitor temps....any resolution on this yet?

We basically need to check whether the current internal version will work on your system, since there have been many fixes and changes.
Please PM me your IM address/contact and I'll contact you.
