99.8 issues

Post by andyvee »

Hi , just updated to 99.8 but have hit 2 issues .

1 . I can't activate overheat protection as if i do my machine shuts down with an overheat warning ( apparently cores 0 & 1 are hitting 228 degrees c )

2 . I can't see to get the temp icons in the system tray unless i manually click on the coretemp icon ( normally setup to autostart in windows 7 ) .

None of the above were a problem with 99.7 , as a side note i can't find the older versions on the site as i would have liked to have gone back to 99.7 while the above is looked into .

FYI , cpu is an i7-930 on a gigabyte x58a-ud7 if that helps .

I noticed the first problem you mentioned on my CPU as well. I'll need to look into it more to see what's the cause for that.
I'm not quite sure what the problem is in 2. Could you please explain it more clearly?

Yeah , normally i have coretemp setup so i have all 4 core temps show up in the taskbar at the bottom right of my screen but now they dont appear if i have coretemp startup as a service in w7ult64 ( coretemp is running as the seperate gadget reports temps ) , i have to then click coretemp again and go into the settings everytime i startup .

There's still an issue where Core Temp starts before the taskbar appears, in that case the systemtray icons will not be visible until you click Ok or Apply in the Settings dialog.
This bug should be resolved in the next release.
