Core Temp 0.99.7.3-64bit shows wrong CPU

Post by mikehd »

My notebook has an Intel Core i7 Arrandale CPU that is reported by Core Temp 0.99.7.3-64 as an i5 Arrandale. Also, the machine has 4GB DDR3 and the app reports 3061MB. This is on Vista64 enterprise. CPUz also misreports the memory but PC Wizard 2010 gets it right.

Thanks for a great app! 8)

The upcoming version will fix the CPU recognition problem.
Core Temp doesn't report Memory information, so I'm not sure where you got that from.
It is probably Windows that can only utilize the said amount of RAM due to BIOS settings, like memory remapping (for 4GB and more memory configurations) and the amount of RAM which should be dedicated to the GPU.
Main rig:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (True Spirit 140 Direct) / Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty X470 / EVO 970 500GB + WD Blue 250GB + HDD / GPU: Dell RX 570 4GB / Mem: 2x16GB DDR4-3200 G.Skill 32GTZKW TridentZ - 32GB total / PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 650W

Sorry - it was the Core Temp gadget reporting the memory. I'll check my BIOS to see that it is correctly set for 64 bit memory remapping.
