Zotac ION/Atom 330 reads 20 Deg. F high

Post by zrtom »

On my Zotac ION (Atom 330), Core Temp reports 20 Deg. C warmer than what the BIOS reads and also what SIW (System Information for Windows) reports. This is by running Core Temp just as it comes (no changes to settings, offsets, etc.). Am I doing something wrong? Should I change the offset to -20 Deg. C?

I've looked around but don't see anything on this. Thanks.

Is it normal to have to adjust offsets? In other words, why doesn't Core Temp report the correct temperature to begin with? Does it have something to do with the particular board the CPU chip is on?
Thanks.

One other question.
I'm trying out a new Atom D510. Is that CPU officially supported?
This thing runs so cool (apparently) that when it goes below 30 Deg. C the temp flashes a "?".
Is that what the "?" is for, to signal a possible problem?
I believe it is truly that cool because the CPU cooling fins are literally cool to the touch, even down at the base.

Thanks for a great product.
