Only showing 1 CPU on dual core system?

Post by Wolfie »

Windows 7, 64bit
AMD Athlon 7750 (Kuma, dual core, black edition, 2.7ghz)

Shows 2 frequencies (which are off) and only 1 CPU.

Freq 0 and 1 show as 2699.83 (199.99 x 13.5) when it should be showing 2700 (200 x 13.5). The BIOS properly reports this as well as CPU-Z.

Temperature readings, it shows CPU #0 with temperature readings (current, low, high).

At the top, it shows [2] cores and [2] threads.

Well everything seems fine.
Different programs calculate CPU frequency differently. Each has it's own algorithm.
The difference here is much less than a single MHz, it falls right within the margin of error for this type of programs.
So the frequency is not "off".

Regarding the temperature. All K10 (Phenom) based processors have a single temperature sensor on-die, so there's no point in showing the same temperature spanned over several cores, I much rather display the frequency for each core, since in some cases cores may have different speeds.
