Core Temp on Win 7 - Aero Shake bug

Post by Thaidog »

I have noticed on Win 7 when I shake a window to minimize all other windows Core Temp will disappear from the task bar. If you ALT-TAB or 3D FLip for the window it is no longer there. Also if you try to start Core Temp again Windows will say "Another instance of Core Temp is already running!". The same thing happens with CPU-Z but CPU-Z will let you start it up again.

This is on win 7 RC 64bit w/ latest patches.

This is "by design".
When you minimize Core Temp, it hides the window and the task bar button. To get it back up you need to double click (or right click and click Show/Hide) on the system tray icons.
And just in case anybody wants to be able to run multiple instances of Core Temp you simply need to untick "Only allow a single instance of Core Temp" in the Settings window.

Ok. Is it by design of windows in general or the Core Temp app?

Core Temp hides the window + hides the task bar button when you minimize it. It doesn't matter whether you do it by shaking another window or by clicking the _ button in Core Temp's window.
